I have a Q9550 (8.5multi x 333mhz stock = 2.83ghz) in an EVGA 780i motherboard with 8 gigs of gskill DDR1000 ram.

When I set my overall FSB (say 1700mhz which should mean 425fsb x 4), why does it show that my actual memory speed is higher than 850mhz (425mhz x2 for DDR)? It shows my actual memory speed is 1050mhz (CPU-Z shows my DRAM Frequency at 525mhz).

I bought DDR1000 ram so I could run (in theory) up to a 500mhz FSB (2000mhz overall FSB) without having to worry about my memory keeping me back. But now that I see this actual memory speed so high, I am thinking I need faster memory.

I have things setup in a 1:1 ratio. I'm confused... but my overclocking skills are outdated (see sig :p )

EDIT - Just noticed my FSB : DRAM ratio is 5:6 in CPU-Z... that would explain things... although I have the only ratio I see in my bios set to 1:1 synchronized?

Figured it out, 1:1 settings on here did not work as expected, but if I set it to just "Sync" it gives correct numbers.

Odd?
