i just got a new E8400 E0. doesnt matter what clock im at, 3ghz stock, 3.6 (400x9), or even 4ghz (445x9), my idle temps are stuck at core 0 35C and core 1 39C respectively. core 1 is a constant 39C, and core 0 jumps between 35-37. moreover, my bios reports 20-24C at all of the aforementioned clocks.

under load, both temps seem normal, both reading between 45-48C. hasnt hit over 49.

im using coretemp 0.993 and realtemp 2.9 beta i think it is. both are latest versions. both have tjmax set to 100C. do i need to do some idle calibration, or are my chip sensors outta wack?

Yup. If both are stuck @ idle, but raise during loads, then indeed both the sensors are fubared.

Core0 on my E3110 is stuck @ 32c idle, tho Core1 drops to 25c, but both raise normally under loads.
