Unhappy Unable to download anything, help pls!

Whenever I try to download something through firefox I get this message :

C:\Users\Josh\AppData\Local\Temp could not be saved, because you cannot change the contents of that folder.

Change the folder properties and try again, or try saving in a different location.

This has never happened to me before and I have no clue how to fix it. I have firefox set to download files to my desktop.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, ty.

are you using a guest account?

Vista i assume...

Do you have firefox set to automatically download / open files, if so change the association to ask for a place to download first.. once that work i would check the folder it mentions security policies...

Sounds like you do not have permissions to alter that folder, try saving it somewhere else or make sure you have permission to modify that folder.

tell us how you fixed it...
was it that you had to empty the folder before you could write any more to it because it had got too large?

I uninstalled CC Cleaner and restarted a few times in safe mode and the restrictions got lifted. I'm not 100% sure if it was CC cleaner, but it had to have been either CC cleaner or Ad-Aware locking it up. I don't think it was Firefox.

TBH I really have no idea, anyone know of any programs that can just change restrictions on you? (I assumed if a program detected a virus or mal-ware then it'd lock you out)

It's never happened to me before that's why I was so frustrated.
