stuttering noises coming out of my speakers during...

Guys, what are the possible causes of my speakers emitting a stuttering noise whenever there's complex 3D scenes during games?
For instance, in games like Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, when there are trees all the way to the horizon, my speakers starts to emit stuttering noises, like static, in addition to the games own sound and music.

Is was hoping maybe i could narrow down the causes of such stuttering, so i'd know what part of my PC to test, and possibly replace.

are sure its coming from the speakers? did you try putting it on mute when you start hearing the noise? Because i get that buzzing/static sound coming from my video card when loading games like Cod4, Crysis, and FEAR.

It can be quite common for there to be noise, especially with onboard systems...

When I scroll my mouse, I hear crackling, when my hardrive does things, the speakers crackle.. weird i guess.

When my cellphone is near the wire to my speakers or my CRT monitor it make the monitor flicker and the speakers beep.
It's because there is little/no shielding on the connection from waves emitted from the phone (or in other cases the harddrive revving up, mouse use, etc)

Yes the jack is fully plugged in. And yes it's coming from the speakers. The sound gets louder as i increase the volume, and disappears when i mute volume.
I am using onboard sound. But the weird thing is that it only happens in some games. For instance, i don't understand why the crackling noise doesn't come when i'm playing crysis, which i firmly believe has so much more polygons on the screen compared to Oblivion, but when i'm playing a game as old as Need For Speed Most Wanted, the crackling noise comes!

is there any pattern to the games that have the interference?
What Operating System are you using?

Can you confirm something for me?

Do you get super stuttering when driving specifically here in this direction and in this corner?
I don't know why but I always get low FPS when driving there, I don't know if anyone have notice.

i get crackling in Trackmania forever, but none in COD4 or Vegas 2. I think its just the quality of the coding.

I'm using Windows XP Professional with Service PAck 3.
The only pattern i can see, is that in Oblivion, when i'm riding the horse, the crackling sound stutters in time with the horse footsteps. Other than that, it just crackles consistently when i'm not on the horse and just looking around.

Also, the crackling seems to lessen when the audio gets weaker, like when the music fades out to introduce a new track for instance.
