I decided that tonight was a good time to update my GPU2 installs... I was running the following:
- v6.20 (not r1)
- Core v1.09
- nVidia Drivers 177.83 or 177.84
Soooooo.... I rip all that out, install the (in no particular order):
- v6.20r1 SysTray w/nVidia only viewer
- delete old v1.09 core, get the v1.13 core
- load the latest WHQL nVidia Drivers - v178.13
The Results:
- 8800GT 512MB (shaders @ 1836)
- old frame time: 1mn 20s - 5184.00 ppd
- new frame time: 1mn 13s - 5681.10 ppd
- 8800GT 256MB (shaders @ 1782) x 2
- old frame time: 1mn 25s - 4879.06 ppd
- new frame time: 1mn 16s - 5456.84 ppd
Let's see... carry the two, ahh... That little stunt just netted me another 1600ppd!!!! Again, I might just be behind the times... growing complacent with my GPU2 installs... so I don't know if it's the v1.13 core, the drivers, or what... but I'm liking it.
