My over clock is being limited by my motherboard's BIOs.

Any OC 3.4Ghz or over on my Q6600 causes the motherboard to boot into a "safe mode" reverting all of my hard ware back to stock settings, and in the case of my RAM under clocking it.

I've read around, and hear the issue could be the motherboards battery needing to e replaced with a better one. That's the only thing I've found so far.

System Specs:

Thermaltake Toughpower 1200W
2x GTX 280 in SLI
EVGA 780i
Corsair Dominator 1066Mhz @ 5-5-5-15
Q600 @ 3.2Ghz

This is the screen I get when I boot.

that board will work past 3.4GHz on that quad, i don't believe it for a second that it can't.

i'm not sure what the warning is, i THINK its that your trying to overclock the memory to much. make sure to unlink the ram from the cpu.

You most definitely can OC past 3.4ghz.

I have a 780i and got to 4.0ghz (not very stable, but she booted into windows).

Like spawn said, unlink that ram and set it at either 800 or 1066.

Then see how far you can get that Q66.
