Artic Clean

First off not sure which hole this would fit so general it is.

I use this stuff quite often to clean all of my cores and heatsinks, works great on all types of pastes. The part one I know is an orange based cleaner, but part two, the purifier I'm not sure what it is. Up until yesterday I thought it was a pure form of alcohol, but I was wrong, I put some on an old aluminum cooler and it cause an extreme chemical reaction, literally corroding and boiling the aluminum away. Anyone have any clue what it is in it and why artic silver has nothing listed saying don't use on aluminum?
