ok so this is how it goes:
i was excited when i purchased my OCZ DDR2 1066 mhz 4gb pack!
i thought this is it! finally i will replace the old 4 gb of kingston DDRII 667.

till i replaced the kingston memory my Q6600 was OC to 3.0 ghz.

now when i put the new OCZ models inside, the highest FSB i can get is 285!!!!!
only 2.56 ghz !!

anything more than that the board restarts itself at the bios deafaults without overclocking.

i tried everything!! pumping up the voltage to my CPU and the memory!!!
CPU was even at 1.8!!! and the memory at +0.6 blinking red:santa:

help!!! am i doing something wrong? is this board a piece of ****?

exact setup:

gigabyte EP35C-DS3R
Intel Q6600 (with BIGtyphoon)
ASUS 8800 GTS 512 mb
2x Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 SATA (raid 0)
2x 2GB OCZ Reaper HPC Edition ddrII 1066mhz
Thermaltake ToughPower W0103 600W PFC (24pin)‎
samsung dvd burner

k will do once i get back home from work:cool:
will let you know if something exciting happens he he:beer:

Usually clearing the cmos will help reset evrything. If not we'll try something else ;)

Unplug psu from wall
Hit power button to discharge any current left
Set clear cmos jumper ( refer to mobo's manual)
Remove cmos battery from mobo
Let it sit like that for 5-10 minutes

Then:

Set cmos jumper back to normal
Place cmos battery back
Plug psu back into wall
Keep fingers crossed and power up.

You'll have to set evrything back in the bios then we'll take it from there.

:cry::cry:
did that...
first i could get it up to 290 FSB and then
the usual stuff... no matter what i do cant get the FSB
beyond 285...:bang head

this is weird cause it's not that high at all.
 BLUE SCREEN AS i WRITE THIS MESSAGE....
ok now i'm back to no OC at all he he:beer:

after googling a bit i notice alot of pepole with this problem.
it looks like a bug in gigabyte mobos or just plain ****** hardware...:p
anyway the solution is not to overclock your memory at all.
i got only the cpu overclocked and fixed the memory clock to be at 1066.
now my cpu is back to 3.0 GHZ makes me greedy a bit to try and overclock it more;)

so i guess this mobo is a piece of ****
you cant really overclock the memory....

thanks for the help!!
