I've posted a similar issue in the past..
I had a total of 8gb of this ram, had memtest errors.. sent 2 of the 4 chips back for rma, other two tested fine, now those 2 chips came back, brand new ones.. (i ran fine with the original 2 for 2 weeks, no errors, freezes)

back to square one, amazingly

today i get the replacement 2 chips (the other 2).. these ones said 1.9v instead of 1.8v on their label.. i put them in with the other 2.. (which had been working stellar for 1.5 weeks, no freezes nothing).. I then run a memtest.. I find errors in minutes..

Address: 00000000000; Error bits 10101010 MB = 0.0

So i pull the 2 new RMA replacements, go back to what i new was working.. Vista froze on booting up for some reason, so i decide to memory check those 2, even though i had done this before with no errors..

Now those 2 are failing (original 2 sticks that tested fine before) at address 00000000000 and 0.0mb and error bits included 80808080 and 40404040 etc.. all at 0.0mb..

Would bios settings cause errors? (although, again, i had no errors for hours on these same 2 sticks before).. I tried increasing the ref cycle to 90 from about 66 that was working.. i also tried increasing my ram voltage from 1.9 to 1.92 and fsb from 1.41 to 1.43, no luck..

I tried both sets of slots.. same deal..

I have no idea how they could suddenly have gone "bad" or if its possible i received yet more bad ram in the rma that somehow "corrupted" the other 2 sticks.. or can the slots (all of them in this case) just go bad, due to introducing bad ram..

At this point i dont know what to do with these chips.. i found a thread about 1333 reapear ram from OCZ working on the ocz forum, was thinking of trying them, but i'm fearing ill end up in the same mess again.

Ill use the template if i go further, but i have an update:

I had a spare p5e3 deluxe laying around.. i decided to swap the motherboard out..

I put one of the 2 "old" ddr3 ocz chips in, ran memtest.. low and behold, so far, NO errors..

At this point i'm not sure what happened.. could those fresh RMA'd (new) 1.9v labelled but same model chips have done something to the old board? Is this even possible..

Should i attempt to test either of those RMA'd chips at this point.. i'm afraid the same thing could happen again..

I've never ran into this situation before.. this is really strange..

Thanks

Update.. i think i jumped to the wrong conclusion.. as i was error testing, still no errors.. i decided to start pluggin back in, usb's.. suddenly i had errors (i also recalled, that before, while at the initializing usb controllers.. it would freeze for 25 or more seconds).. so maybe one of the usb devices is throwing the memory errors.. this seems hard to believe but i guess its possible.

Well, i'm now trying a last ditch effort to get all of these chips running at once, short of switching to the reaper 1333 ram that Tony at OCZ apparently did get working on my board/cpu..

So far no luck with this ram (all 8GB).

They work fine in pairs.. but even 1222mhz generates memtest errors after as short as 40 minutes..

Again, the cpu is the q9650 3.0ghz normal speed; again, 2 of my chips are labelled 1.8v the other 2 that came back from rma are labelled 1.9v though i think they are identical, perhaps the first batch was mislabelled, ocz said ( i think) that the ram can goto 1.95 in warranty, at least with the ones labelled 1.8

Here are the settings i've tried so far.. if not noted, the setting is auto

**I did try setting the ratio to make the cpu close to 3.0ghz, didnt seem to make much difference, I've seen some people who have had their nb as high as 1.61, but have been afraid to go much higher.. I also tried lower ram and nb voltages without luck **1200mhz with all 4 sticks would not work either!

I'm still leaning towards just getting the reaper 1333, since its been proven to work with all 8GB and at 1600mhz in this board (lower timings too) via this link: http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38042
