I got into an arguement with someone over how they don't think FO3 is Fallout, and I do (and I'm not a fanboy).

So I'm curious - who here has played FO 1 and 2 and do you like FO3 just as much if not more?

Because I think FO3 is what FO 1 and 2 would be in this day and age.

I love Fallout 3, I think it's just that a lot of people say that just because the gameplay isn't the same. As in, they think it's too easy and less "grimy" so that's their reasoning for it not being Fallout.

WAHAHA!

I think it captures the Fallout essence, the way the game actually makes you think about your gameplay choices and who you want to see thrive in the world. I started out planning to nuke Megaton before I bought the game, but I really liked the characters in the town so I helped it out, instead.

It really feels like you're injecting yourself into the game world, one of my friends said anyone that tries to extort him gets shot! About 30 seconds after I first found Paradise Falls and discovered what was going on from the guard at the front gate, I swept the place clean!

Its not perfect, but I thought bestheda did a superb job remaking the game. In the end most of my complaints are fairly small in perportion to the quality of the game (if you want to read more indepth comments by me, I have a thread right below this one)

Fallout 2 is still my favorite, but I am not sure whether I like Fallout 1 or 3 more, the main thing that takes Fallout 1 down a notch for me is the time limit.
