G.Skill 2GBHZ recent problems - anyone else?

Bought these back in summer 2007 and still have them in my build - when I saw them again on newegg at $40 off I bought another pair making it 4x1GB, (off-topic) someone told me I should buy 2x2GB instead of 4x1GB for reasons (other than the limitation of modules I could fit on) I can't remember.

When they came in I had a DOA with the first pair, sent it back to them and shipped me a new kit... and now running it for a little under a month one of the modules died again. I was extremely disappointed thinking I may have damaged them.

I never noticed the circuit board changed from black to standard green boards either until I looked at it closer - don't think this makes a huge difference in terms of performance / quality. Has G.Skill changed something with these that I wasn't aware about?, my old ones started with a 7 these new ones started with a 8. This will be my 2nd RMA and I'm hoping for the best this time around. I was just wondering if anyone else has had problems with these or it's just my bad luck.

Just to be sure, when I got the other pair I set it to 2.1V~2.2V and 5-5-5-15 to be sure it will run. What's the voltage threshold of these for the full 4 sticks? Could I run these at 4-4-4-12 as well with all 4GB in? Stupid questions but I just want to be on the safe side.

Bump. After looking through this list... http://ramlist.i4memory.com/ddr2/ I'm not sure what I have without taking off the heatspreader. What were they back around summer of '07?

What are the new ones that G.Skill uses now? I'm probably going to ask whether I can send all 4 sticks in to have them replaced so that they all have the same IC's.

Sorry for getting back to this thread a bit late, G.Skill rep didn't get back to me on whether I can replace all 4 of my sticks to have all the same IC's on them. How much of a significant difference would it make for 2 different paired IC's during overclocking or otherwise? - I don't think I'll go over 800mhz 4-4-4-12 anyways.
