Looks like the folks of "Antivirus XP 2008" (or "XP Antivirus 2008") finally busted!

These group of folks may also be responsible for the malware that I wiped out on someone's Compaq Presario in July, 2007!

Sweet!!

I actually gave up and formatted one of my machines that had this a while back, I managed to clean most of it, but then I kept getting recurring startup entries, it was all rather annoying and the system had nothig on it so I just went ahead and nuked it.

Maybe the FTC is preparing for an administration that realizes the internet DOES exist, and crime happens on the internet. Maybe they'll finally start taking down some of the disgusting companies that promote and sell malware.

Thank goodness. I got the SpywareXP 2008 recently & it was a serious pain to get rid of.

I think I remember their fake Norton site - symantic.com or symantac.com.
