installing vista using a TV (no monitor. just the TV)

I have a 8800gts and a Panasonic FullHD tv. I am using a DVI-to-HDMI cable (so instead of using a separate dvi-to-hmdi adaptor and hdmi cable, the cable and the adaptor is all-in-1).

When the PC boots up, there is nothing on the TV. I went to the menu on the TV and reset the video settings. The correct HDMI input is selected on the TV. I tried both DVI ports without any luck.
