Cosmos 1000 vs 1010

I am getting ready to order me a CM Cosmos 1000 case. But debating between the Cosmos 1010 also?

What are the pro/cons of both cases? and would a clear side panel for the Cosmos 1000 fit on the Cosmos 1010 case? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811999187 im assuming?

As far as I can tell, the only difference between the 1000 and the 1010 is that the 1010 has an extra vent on the side of the case. Everything else should be exactly the same. The window will fit any of the Cosmos cases, but will also mean that you no longer have the extra vent on that panel should you choose the 1010.

I was considering purchasing the 1000 as I think it is a beautiful case, but there are a couple things that I was looking for that I did not find with it. My main gripe with it was that the 1000 (and 1010, I suppose) are meant for quiet PCs, so there isn't a lot in the way of fans or fan mounts. The HDD bays, for example, have absolutely no active cooling whatsoever. There are holes for mounting a fan above the HDD bay, but this seems like it would make for some strange airflow inside the case, plus it negates a couple 5.25" slots. If you really wanted to, I'm sure you could spend a bit of time with it and make your own fan mounts, but personally, that's not something I want to have to do. I'm now looking towards the Cosmos S, instead. The Cosmos cases are probably more suited to water cooling, given their size and design.

You need to buy the 1010 - as a former cosmos 1000 owner myself, I can tell you that the case didn't quite have enough airflow (intake - exhaust was fine). Nice case though - probably the best all-around case I've ever purchased. That side fan should make for adequate airflow, although you might consider the Cosmos S as well.

Unless you're just stuck on these two, take a look at the CM HAF932 and ATCS 840.
