Pay attention at all times...you may be a good driver but that doesn't mean you should assume everyone else is. Also don't drink and drive!

Oh crap! That means I'm gonna have to stop driving now that you are on the road, that is if I wanna live to see my 43 b-day. I knew this was gonna happen!

These are just what popped into my head right away.

1.) Always know where your license and registration is in your car. It creates an award moment if you get pulled over and can't find them

2.) Make sure to keep enough distance between you and the car in front of you. This will of course vary depending on your speed, the road conditions, etc... It really sucks to rear-end a soccer mom in her SUV

Don't drive like you're some hot sh*t who just watched 2 Fast 2 Furious. Drive with a level head and you're golden.

Very good advice. Be aware and don't be stupid.

I think you live far enough away. At least 3000 miles away.

1. You are not a good or experienced driver.
2. If it's raining or snowy out SLOW DOWN. There's nothing wrong with going slowly.
3. Pay attention.

I bolded the important part. How interested in cars are you and what are you familar with driving. If you have any sort of an interest and a somewhat decent car I would suggest looking for some local autocross classes to sign up for. SCCA usually offers them a couple times and year in various locations. Even if you dont have an interest these classes teach you alot about car handling and control that you dont always learn on thes treet.

Is it the provisional thing or a full privileged license?

Just remember, driving games are not a replacement for doing the real thing properly. You have a ton or two in your command. If you mess up... There is no reset button or do overs.

The excitement wears off pretty fast. It is a nice goal to reach in life. The first time you get to be in charge of an auto. Make sure your young friends do not distract you from the proper operation of the vehicle. That is a very large killer of teens in cars. It is not laadeedah.. Things can go wrong very fast in a car at speed. Sop keep an out at least 3 seconds ahead/around you.

Otherwise enjoy that privilege of being able to drive and becoming independent. Never stop honing the skills of a good defensive driver.

Try not to accelerate over 2500 rpms unless you really have to.....Do this and you find that you save lots of gas. Also I have to second not riding to closely thats an important one and it will lead to a rear end crash that is your fault if you make a habbit out of it. I went through it myself at 16 and now my insurance is very expensive because I got a ticket and in an accident at 16.

This really hinges on what kind of car he has. A small 4 cylinder will have to go over 2500RPM a lot more than a 3+ liter car will.
