give me some ideas on air.


Im a water guy but i need some killer air that makes little to no noise over stock. Yes it will be for Ocing. keep it around 50 bucks.

I think "most" people would say, and agree that the Thermalright Ultra 120 is the best heatsink/fan setup you can get for air.

Do consider a good fan too. For example, the 120x38mm sanyo deikin from PTS which cost $25, noctau p-12 (not as powerful as scythe s-flex but it may sound better subjectively), scythe s-flex "e/f" (in high restriction setups, slipstreams do not perform well so don't get that one) or the famous yate loons from PTS.

Personally, I advice people to get a medium fan + a fan controller, especially if you don't have experience with that particular fan before. Because you may not know how weak or noisy the fan is. Therefore getting a medium speed fan eliminates a weak fan, while a fan controller elimiates an extremely noisy fan.

all of this time i had been wishing for a quiet pc..

the last 3 years for sure

i can hear mine from thru the main floor into the basement, its that bad

i have a zalman zm-mfc2 that i have been useing just to monitor how much power im pulling from the wall..

i forgot it was a fan controller :P
