Looking for some higher clocks

I need more MHZ. As much as I can on 24/7 water. A dual core is good enough for me and I don't mind pumping voltage to it. I've been running my B3 at 1.6vcore for over a year now. I'd rather buy just a proc. I don't want to upgrade mobo yet if I don't have to.

I have been reading that the 8600 is king. What do these things top out at on water? What are my chances of getting top clocks if I just buy a proc from newegg?

I think using water, there is no point in getting an E8600 over an E8400/E8500

Yeah, I think you'd hit a FSB wall before maxing an E8400.

Wait, I just realized what I said doesn't make sense! The lower your FSB, the faster you will want your CPU to be huh! Disregard my first post!

I still do not believe that the E8600 is worth the money you pay extra for just the x10 multiplier. It just does not justify the 100 bucks. Unless going for benching runs the E8400/8500 will do what you are looking for.
