vista installs SLOW! HDD Probs?

So I have recently built the comp in my sig and have installed vista64 bit. Ive noticed that, for the most part, I was able to overcome most problems and have everything running fairly well. The only thing I will say is that it seems like my HDD is slow as heck. Installs take FOREVER. menus (such as right click menus and start menus) take 5 sometimes ten seconds to open! Ive defraged the HDD, my mem usually never says over 50% and i have a HDD with 32mb cache. what is going on here?

is your problem. I wouldnt put any important data on it honestly, search around the forums and you will find out why.

Lots of people are having issues with those drives. Run a diagnostic tool. Seems to be a known issue.
