PX9500GT texture issues

i am running an AMD duocore with windows xp home. i was running a nvida 8600gt and was having trouble with texture issues during game play in Guild Wars. i thought the card was faulty as i erased the drivers and reloaded the latest drivers with no success. i am now running a nvida px 9500gt and i still am having the same issues. the texture goes strange and displays odd colours or patterns in game. i run in window mode so if i minimize the window then bring it back up right away the textures are back to normal. the driver version i have is 178.24. i just found that i have a turbolink LC-A420 ATX power supply. i see in the forums that this power supply needs to be replaced. could the powersupply be causing this fault or is this a driver issue?

i guess Anti-Aliasing (AA) issue
try disabling it in Nvidia control panel
Global Settings -> Overrite any app. settings

problem is that it is the exact same problem i had with the earlier card 8600gt. i got some really funky screen shots and was able to identify what part of the game screen they were from. i am told that a duo core needs minimum of 550 watt power supply. i have a duo core with a decent video card. the power supply has been said to be a bad one just by it's model no#. i think i am going to change it out and go to a 600 watt or better and see if that makes a diffrence. it looks like there is a section of the game screen expanded to double it's normal size. 1 screen shot shows a toon in guild wars broken up into seperate parts and spread all over the screen. if my power supply is to low then this would also have an effect on my processor's as well would it not? my first card was a MSI GeForce 8600GT - TD512EZ. my new card is a Leadtek WinFast PX9500GT 512MB GDDR3 on board. 2 diffrent cards and yet exactly the same problem right down to clearing the screen by minimizing the screen and returning it to window mode. anti aliasing would cause lag and even lockup which i am not getting.

Your card is overheating , you need to arrange better airflow in your case.To check if that's indeed the cause ,open your case door and point a regular fan at it .

Please keep everything in one thread its easier to help , when all the information is in one place.

Your problems could very well be caused by the craptastic power supply in your system. Buy yourself a good quality power supply such as a Corsair VX450 or VX550 or Antec Earthwatts 500 and see if the problems disappear. The quality of your power supply is a lot more important than having a big number. Your system needs no more than a good quality 450 watt psu to run, but the key word is quality. The ones I mentioned above are high quality units and if you shop around there are generally some good deals to be found on them.
