UFC 96

Thoughts? Predictions?
  • Quinton Jackson vs Keith Jardine
  • Gabriel Gonzaga vs Shane Carwin
  • Pete Sell vs Matt Brown
  • Matt Hamill vs Mark Munoz
  • Gray Maynard vs Jim Miller
  • Tamdan McCrory vs Ryan Madigan
  • Kendall Grove vs Jason Day
  • Tim Boetsch vs Jason Brilz
  • Brandon Vera vs Michael Patt
  • Aaron Riley vs Shane Nelson

I want to see Jardine win so badly, but I think Jackson has this one in the bag. However Jardine has fought serious strikers, Liddell, Alexander, Silva, and lost two of them by KO. If he plays it smart like he did the Liddell fight, he will take this one. But I predict Jackson by TKO in the 2nd.

Gonzaga is going to have his hands full dealing with Carwin. Having lost to Couture (strong wrestling base), Gonzaga is going to have trouble dealing with the size, strength and wrestling base that Carwin has. However, Gonzaga is no joke, Carwin can win if he takes Gonzaga down and pounds him out.

Jackson & Gonzaga will win. As far as the rest, I'm not too sure. They have all been kinda inconsistent in thier victories. I am going to a buddies house tonight for a UFC 96 BBQ party. I can't wait. I love UFC, its my favorite sport. I used to be a boxing ***** but boxing has been basically dead for a number of years now.

*edit, I didn't know that hore was a filtered word ;p

What was even more hilarious than Matt Brown running through him, was his horrible fake tan!

So many first round knock outs. I'm glad we got to see the entire card, first time that's ever happened.

That was pretty awesome.

I thought Carwin's right hand was more shocking. Basically a jab KOed Gonzaga. What insane power

Yeah dude! That was pretty impressive. I jumped off the couch and screamed...ITS OVER~! LOL When that happend.

I c-a-n-n-o-t wait until Chuck liddel fights in April. I love Chuck, when he is on his game he is the ultra striker from hell and no one can touch him. But, whose to say he will be "on game" come April? He is kinda old, but hey, so was/is Randy Coture and we all know what he did.

Yeah, I was kinda bummed to see Jardine lose it in the last 15 seconds from getting knocked down. He really should of thrown more kicks too. I like Rampage and all, but I think Machida deserves his title shot first.

He wasn't getting the best end of the punches, but there are other factors to the fight.

He was controlling the octogon better and showing more aggression. Jackson just seemed to follow Jardine around and counter. That certainly doesn't fair well in the judges eyes.

I think Page was just looking for that KO

I don't know why people think Rampage won the fight in the last 15 seconds. Supposedly one of the refs had told Jardine that but I had Rampage winning every round.

The first was close but I still think Rampage took it. What octagon control was Jardine showing? He was just backing up the entire time.

Yeah dude! I totally agree. The dean of mean was not very mean. Unless you consider meaness by how many fists you hit with your face?
