Question.. Dual loop?

I put together a nice WC setup for my cpu a few months ago, thanks to OCF

but now I'm thinking about upgrading and adding my gpus into the mix.
I will be watercooling as many as 3 GTX285's, 2 at first, but I plan to get a third one after awhile.

Would it be best to get another pump and a 3x120 rad, and run dual loops, or would it be fine to run in series, something like:

Res/pump -> rad -> cpu -> rad -> gpu1 -> gpu2

if you have the room its always better to add another RAD \ pump. , especially with the heat from overclocked 200 series.

your proposed loop ,looks like its going to work , but make sure to use a flow calc, to see if you have enough current.

What water setup are you running currently? If I had the cash I would dedicate a separate loop to that 285 sli setup, as it going to put off some very decent heat.

You should definitely use a second loop for 2+ 285's. Gat a 2x120 rad, you really dont need any bigger for the GPU's, IMO.

If your going to go 3x 285's you'll need a 120x3 rad for sure. Any decent pump/res will be fine.

GPU's dump a lot of heat and even if you add a new rad and still stay single loop with two GPU's, your CPU temps will suffer. Your idle water temps will be higher no matter what, and that impacts your CPU temps.

I run a 320 and a CPU/GPU. I saw my idle temps go up 2C when I went from a 8800GT to a 280GTX. If you'll have two GPUs, yea, split the loop.

2 loops for tri sli and cpu.

if you have the space and money i would even go with a quad rad for 3x gtx's. it will give you room to overclock nicely.

GPU's dont act the same as CPU's. The colder a CPU gets the better you can OC, however GPU's tend to have a limit, a point of diminishing returns.

ya but i come from the stand point of overkill i will pretty much cool any part of my pc with a triple and 6 high speed yates regardless. once i get my tax return i am going to place the order for my video card.

and i did have alot of success with winter air and my 8600GT's and some volt mods.

Instead of asking for peoples "opinions" why don't you read some testing results and get some facts?

Stuff like this..

Umm yea, what wattage do you need to dissipate and what raddage will do that?

well, cpu by itself does pretty well with just a 120x2 (rarely see over 45C at full load via Prime95)

I'm definitely going to get a 120x3 for the GTX285's and I've done some (more) reading and 2 loops is probably smartest.
