Hello

Just thought I would say a quick hello to all.
I have looked at these forums quite a few times, and since now I am about to start a water cooled project, thought I would register.
The parts arrive tomorrow, will be taking my time to build it, as I am short of time, but will keep you posted and maybe ask some advice, cheers in advance

to OCForums, Coffin Dancer.

What are the specs for your computer and what are your plans for watercooling? Are you doing a cpu only loop or are you going to cool the video card and possibly the northbridge too? We are here to help you any time.

Thanks for the welcome muddockor
I have gone for the i7-920, with the gigabyte EX58 extreme mobo, putting a gtx285 in there.
I am going to be using two loops, one swiftech vario, with thermochill 120.3, cooling the cpu and mobo, and a swiftech vario and black ice stealth 240 for the graphics, gives me the option for sli in the future.
All this is going into a silverstone tj07s.
Quite a few other bits and pieces too, will update with photos when I get em.

sounds good, i always like seeing builds.

and Welcome!

just a word of warning, your mobo block has aluminum and you will need an anti corrosion coolant.

What rad's are those? I have the same mobo, and love it
I take it you are going to have 2 loops to seperate the gpu from the cpu? Can't wait, seeing so many new pc parts in one place makes me drool :P

Rads are thermochill 120.3 and black ice stealth 240.
Just ordered some splitters to go onto the motherboard block, so that I dont restrict flow.

its the best option as the n/b won't get as hot and more flow will get to cpu.

but i wouldn't add the n/b in the loop anyway as its aluminum.

Why two different rads? One is more restrictive, and also one likes high CFM fans and the other doesn't, just seems a bit odd :P

neither needs high cfm, but why 2 different rads i agree with.

and at the very least go with a Swiftech instead of that black ice steath stuff...

Yea, it will be okay with what he has chosen, should be a nice beast.

OP: I got the same mobo, but waiting on my tech station (not in stock). I'm gonna just run air on the NB, from what I read peeps get good temps using the massive air sink that came with it. And peeps also say the WB on the NB is crap. Aluminum interior, 3/8 barbs fized, and isn't that effective at pulling heat. Wish they had made it fit a standard WC NB block, like the MCW30. Ohh well.

Best of luck, I'll be watching this build, gonna be a month till my tech station arrives.

Ive heard the same thing regarding that nb block. I dont know if it would be worth it when you take mixing metals under consideration.
