Okay guys, this is my set up. I want to OverClock my setup.
I work at a computer store, but I know close to nothing about Overclocking.

Here's my computer set up. I just bought it so I could play Crysis.

P6TDeluxe Motherboard - ASUS
Intel Core i7 920 2.66 GHz - Intel
6 GB of PC3-8500 RAM
One (used to have two) GeForce 9800 GT's.
550w Powersupply.

People say you can do the OCing via the BIOS. That's a tad intimidating for me, but I hear its the best way todo it, and I'm not about to half-*** this.
What I've been using is the program that comes with the P6T Deluxe. Turbo V.

These are my current settings in Turbo V:
BCLK Frequency 137
CPU VOLTAGE: 1.35
DRAM Bus Voltage 1.64
QPI\DRAM Core Volt: 1.21250
CPU PLL: 1.84
ICH PCIE: 1.6
IOH PCIE: 1.62
ICH 1.2
IOH: 1.22
CHA DATA .525
CHB DATA .525
CHC DATA .530
CHA CRTL: .520
CHB CTRL .525
CHC CTRL .535.

I'm not even sure that any of that means.

I'm hoping to learn.
What can I do to make my CPU perform better etc. etc.
Any response is greatly appreciated.

:welcome:

Bump for a newbie. I'm not an i7 guy, so I can't give you a lot of advice, other than read all the threads you can about the i7 and see what others are doing. Basically, your CPU speed 2.66GHz is equal to the BCLK frequency 137MHz times the CPU multiplier 20. So by increasing the BCLK freq, you will increase your CPU speed. Generally you want to increase your BCLK freq as high as you can before you start increasing any of your voltages. There are a variety of programs you can use to test your overclock for stability (Prime95, OCCT, Intel Burn Test, etc.).

Sweet, thanks for the tip, and the advice. And for the bump. I'll ask around.

Thanks for the welcome.
