Cluster?

How to set up a cluster?

I have 2-3 oldish computers and my friend has 3. We each have a p4 and some pIIIs I think. I am sure that we could keep adding as well.

Is there a way to make a cluster, and have all of them working on the same WU?

Would a Beowulf cluster work?

If there is a way to do this, then we could use our old PCs to get some real folding done.

No. You can only use them to work on multiple WUs. There was a thread about this a couple weeks ago.

FAH is structured already like a giant cluster, so there is no advantage (and lots of disadvantages), to trying to use a cluster.

Stanford has a cluster and have been experimenting with a folding client, for some time now. No joy.

all of those can fold, single cpu clients. or dban them for security, and donate them to Seniors Center or Teen Centers nearby. They're great web/email/word processing machines.

not manny I have 15-20 p4 that give ~3000 ppd
