Comparing airlines is like discussing the properties of various turds... but this is absolutely horrible. I think I would have ended up in an italian prison.

I'd heard that Italians were like this but always passed it off as a stereo type. Looks like there might be some truth to it after all. Can't these people complain to some Italian government entity?

The problem is, that is what the italian government entity does. Lies lies and lies.

A couple years ago I was on a trip in Brazil. On the way back home I flew on TAM a Brazilian airline. They were late to each connecting flight to the point that they made me miss my flight to New York. They put me up in a hotel overnight and assured me that I would still be able to make my connecting flight from New York to Cleavland. Riiiight! TAM was late yet again coming into New York by about 2hrs and I missed my connecting flight and the airline terminal was closed by the time I got into JFK for my connecting flight. I had to shell out $325 for another nights stay in NY this time. And, then buy a $350 airline ticket because they would not honor the one I had. I couldn't believe it. That was th last time I have flown and really do not want to anytime soon.

Man you shouldn't stop flying because of that though. American airlines are great and there are several international airlines that wouldn't pull that crap. Its the exotic ones you have to look out for in my opinion.

Enjoyable read, due to the author's talent; otherwise- a true horror story.

Seconded. Someone would have gotten socked in the face and I probably would have gotten my luggage back myself, ignoring the glass between me and my stuff.

Wouldn't be too pretty, that's for sure.

Seems pretty fortunate that there was no violence. I don't think I would have been able to handle myself in this situation, really.

Getting physical wouldn't have gotten anyone to where they were trying to go more quickly, but you can't treat people the way these people were treated.

Also, really good read, as a lot of others have mentioned.

Happy the guy got his luggage back.
