I am at my wit's end. securom is killing me...

I installed spore a while back.. everything was fine until i realized it totally screwed over my dvd drive and cd drives.......

I know for a FACT its the securom that it has on it... and i cannot find anyway of removing it..

Any dvd or game i put into the drives simply wont load. WELL any NEW dvd or game wont load. old OLD dvds or games load..

I assume thats because newer dvd's are coded not to run on securom systems or something...

anyway i cannot get this crap off my system.

I have run uninstallers and i have removed bits or pieces from my registry but i just cant get my drives to work anymore until i remove all of this..

i really need some help. please anyone?

good news i fixed it....

it wasn't securom at all. i DID have securom and now its gone yay

but the real culprit?

my dvd drive was bad....

it read cd's fine but for i guess the dvd laser died out... i keep spare drives all around my house so i figured what the hell lets swap it out. and bada bing bada boom. it worked flawlessly.

So i guess its a blessing?

If the drive didn't die out i would have never even bothered or known i had securom on my computer!

killed 2 birds 1 stone

thnx for the help guys. very useful information btw
