I just upgraded from a heavily OCed 8800GTS 512mb to this card and I love it. It eats up every game I throw at it with max. settings, 4AA/16AF, and a 1600X1200 resolution. For newer games this card is a must, as the extra power and Vram really comes in handy. The era of 512mb cards is dead, Fallout 3 is a perfect example of that as it consumes over 800mb with the above settings.

The nvidia cards suprisingly do pull less wattage than their ATi counterparts so you should be perfectally fine overclocking this new card on that powersupply.

The best advice I can give as far as GT200 based video cards overclocking is to #1 use evga precision utility and #2 prepare to de-link the shader clock speed at around +-1500mhz.

For example my cards in sig if I had the shader cores linked would be almost 1576mhz which my card(s) absolutely cannot do. In addition it would force me at my max to run my GPU speed at around 670 despite the fact that when its delinked I can get it 730 stable.

Just food for thought.

06 3DMark is very cpu dependent. Try bumping that Q6600 up to 3.2+ghz. That would have given you a lot more than 500+. The rig in my sig did 15800+ with a 4870 1gb.

Start here: http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=515316

If you run into problems there is a wealth of experience here on OCForums to help you out. The low multiplier on the Q8300 will be its greatest limiter but you should get the 3.2-3.4+ghz range without much problem especially with a decent motherboard and cooler. A P45 would be the best option for getting the highest FSB and OCing a 45nm quad.
