X1650 PRO MEMORY AT 792 STOCK????

my friend bought an x1650 pro agp and for some reason the mem came stock at 972 gpuz reads it as the default being 400 but using rivatuner and atitool we cant get it to go to 400 rivatuner wants it to test hardware and it bsods and atitool wont stick
wtf????
also the core is supposed to be at 600 and its at 594 iv heard this is common

Looks like that card is pre-overclocked. Why do you want to downclock it? Is there problems with artifacts/overheating?

Is there something wrong just running it as is?

the x1650 mem is supposed to be at 400mhz i know atis overclcock really well but that far?
i can only get my memory to 1000mhz without artifacts and mine started at 900
heres a pic of gpuz with the card

and ok its at 797 mhz he said 972 on the phone

Well 797 is well within the 800Mhz mark since the card's ram is DDR2 (400x2)
The core is 600 by default so 594 is right on the mark and within default. I don't see anything wrong with those speeds of that card.

What am I looking for?

so do you reccomend running it and watching for artifacts?

If it hasn't artifacted by now, it won't. The clocks are nominal from factory. Just run it and enjoy it
