Max Payne 3!!!!

DID YOU SEE IT!!

Rockstar is working on Max Payne 3!!!

The Max Payne series are my favorite games of all time. They had better not screw this one up.

"MAX PAYNE 3 COMING WINTER 2009
Mon, 23 Mar 2009 - Rockstar Games is proud to announce that Max Payne 3 is currently in development and scheduled for a winter 2009 release on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and PC. Developed by Rockstar Vancouver, Max Payne 3 tells the story of a retired police detective embroiled in a world of corruption, turmoil and intense violence. The award-winning Max Payne franchise put players in the role of Max Payne, a hard-boiled New York City detective with a penchant for violence, out to avenge the death of his family. The latest installment delivers more of the classic elements and hyper-intense action that fans have come to love, while moving the story of Max in a new direction. "We're starting a new chapter of Max's life with this game," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "This is Max as we've never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever. We experience the downward spiral of his life after the events of Max Payne 2 and witness his last chance for salvation." Since leaving the NYPD and New York itself behind, Max has drifted from bad to worse. Double-crossed and a long way from home, Max is now trapped in a city full of violence and bloodshed, using his weapons and instincts in a desperate search for the truth and a way out."

I can already tell max payne 2 will be the best one of the 3. Just basing my opinion on the picture (means a lot since it is marketing) he doesn't look/seem like the same max payne that I LOVED in the 2nd one.

His first love (wife) and baby girl are dead, his 2nd love Mona is dead again (we think). And they butchered the game with the movie.

What else can they do? Vlad's distant cousin is going after his grandmother and he will deal with an epic battle in the suburbs of a retirement town in florida?

Not sure about this. Don't know if I want to wreak the experiences I've had with the first 2 with a new maker of the game.

This, I think, is why it's going to suck.

I'd be almost certain that they are going to develop this for consoles and then just PORT it to the PC. So it's going to most likely have crappy controls for us PC users. This is just speculation of course, but I think it's a very educated guess.

I do really hope that I'm wrong and it's just as good or better than MP1 and 2. We'll see I guess....

oh man, DEFINITELY play them. They are great games. Definitely on my list of top games. Possibly on the top 5, DEFINITELY on the top 10.

They're $9.99 each on STEAM. You could probably poke around various software stores and find them in the bargain bin.

EDIT: BTW, if you've seen the movie, don't think that it is in ANY way related or reflects the game. That movie bares little resemblance to the games.

I very stressingly second that. The movie was Terrible.

What do you mean the movie bears no resemblance. It was very similar. I enjoyed it.

There are some minor similarities, but they changed and hacked it all around so the story is totally not the same, aside from the fact that his wife and child are murdered and his partner is killed (although wasn't the partner killing thing kind of the main drive of the game, and just a plot continuance in the movie?)

And at the point in the movie where he took the drug and did the big "roar" thing...I was just checked out, it was ridiculous.

I'm pretty dubious about this. The first two games were awesome, but I have a feeling we've got just another craptastic console port piece coming from Rockstar since Remedy (a real PC game developer) won't be making it.

Question Max Again!

The movie was junk. I couldn't believe how bad really.
If I'm not mistaken, Remy did the first two games. I liked them both. I find Rock Star makes their games a little too cartoonish looking.
GTA comes to mind.

Rockstar have some talented devs, which studio is it?

Plus, the same thing happened with Fallout 3 and it was the best game in the series.
