Which one would be the better choice? I was all set to get the TRUE Black and then I found out about the Coolit Domino which has received great reviews. Anyone here use the Coolit Domino?

The Coolit Domino is only $71.25 with 2 day Prime shipping for me:

http://www.amazon.com/CoolIT-DM-100...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1238543184&sr=8-1

Here is my prospective build:

i7 920
EVGA X58 or Classified
EVGA gtx 285
Corsair 1000 HX
GSkill 6GB DDR3 1600
WD Caviar black 1 TB x3
Antec 1200
Vista Ultimate 64

I can get the TRUE Black, 2 fan holders, 1366 mount kit for $96 shipped..... plus I'll still need 2 120mm fans.

I would save some cash and go with a normal True Extreme.

That coolIT is a sub-par product, when compared to a proper water cooling system its worthless... I highly recommend AGAINST it.

where something like

Or better yet (this will allow you to add your video card and water cool it if you buy a GPU waterblock)

will give you much more security, and more bang for you buck... Rather than some gimmick solution.

But really, If I were you I would stick with air cooling, don't go watercooling, unless your confident, patient, and are willing to take the time to do it right with quality parts. All though that coolit will get you there, it won't get you any further, you won't learn anything from it. A proper water cooling solution is modular and will allow you to go that extra mile, overclocking wise and future upgrades.

A few days ago I got really really interested in this Coolit A.L.C cooler, only to be really discouraged by the experiences guys are getting here, especially for the guy who compares it to his Ultra 120 extreme (TRUE). It seems as though this cooler was made with sub sub par parts, especially around the hoses as the coolant would leak. So I changed my mind on getting it.

Ill never do a kit again if ever watercool again. Its better to spend the extra money if for nothing else than piece of mind.

The block/pump on the swiftech kit works very well but its prone to leaking(i found out the hard way) and its in the worst place to be the main leaking point of the system. When mine leaked it filled my GTX 260 with fluid.Thank god after a good dry out period it still worked. After it leaked though i had to tear the whole system down and clean it with alcohol.I had that green fluid all in the pci and pci-e slots and it even got in my psu.Lucky it still works and im using it now

Yup, I agree with gigabit. Either do watercooling properly (buy all the parts individually and put it together yourself) or stick with air cooling. CoolIT's products are not very good and are often very expensive, some even getting to the price point of pieced together watercooling systems.

The trouble with the review is it doesn't compare it with the best air coolers such as the TRUE or even other water coolers. It only compares it with itself at different fan speeds and overclock levels. So, it still doesn't answer the question, is it superior to the TRUE?

I'll second the True recommendation, or third 4th or 5th it whatever it's up to atm.

Just a recent convert myself, I guess I went for the big gun one myself and decked it out a bit.

But from everything I've read the others perform on almost the same level.

The fan holders are pretty nice though for 10 buck range for 2 of em, I like em a lot over the springs.

I got my stuff off Xoxide I guess, but the holders were like 6 bucks a pop not sure what the Black went for there offhand, the Copper went for 99 which is pretty much list price I guess, you might take a look there at least.

Sidewinder had True's also that looked reasonable, I believe.

I have a Prolimatech Megahalem comming this week for my GF's Build which should be done by this weekend i hope. All depends on when my 850HX gets here. But you know im gonna toss the Prolimatech Megahalem in my Rig and see if it gives me better temps. If it does the TRUE is going in my GF's rig which will only be cooling a E8200 @3.5ghz or so if you want a comparison of the TRUE vs Prolimatech Megahalem on a overclocked i7 920 i can give you my results

You can get the TRUE Black about $20 cheaper (depending on shipping options) here and it comes with two fan clips and both 775 and 1366 mounting hardware.

Very good recommendation, I usually buy my stuff from that place and am in the process of making that order
