Sweet Goodwill deal.

I just bought an external SCSI 8x cdr with cables and term. for 10.00. i just tought i would ask a few questions though.
first the cable is a 25pin male to 50 pin centronix does this mean it is MAC?
and if it is MAC can it work on PC
also how can i test if it works, i already plugged in the power and is seem to work so far.
and how much is it worth if it works or how much is the case worth if the drive dosen't work.

You need a SCSI card with an external 50-pin adapter before it's going to work assuming the 25-pin part is what is plugging into the drive itself. SCSI devices are SCSI devices and should work with any platform as long as it's plugged into the correct SCSI controller.

In order to know what it's worth I'd say we need to know what the manufacturer of the drive is and what the read and write speeds are.

Regardless of either, it's not going to be worth much more than what you paid for it. I can get 4X SCSI CDRs for about $8.

well the 25pin part pluggs into the comp. it is an 8x writer don't know about the read speed the manufacturer is not listed the model is CW-7503-B. part of the reason i bought it is even if it is bad it has a nice sunnon fan and its own power supply and i also found out the drive has a LITTLE fan (LIKE 20MM)

according to pricewatch if it works it is definiatly a steal. a refurbished 7501-b (2x write 4x read) is $50 so its gotta be worth more than that, and an enclosure is like 30 more plus the cables.

I'll take it.
I have a 29160 card with the ports to connect that drive to.

I buy my SCSI adapters from http://www.jameco.com and http://www.hurricane-computers.com
