Whoa! I read about that card some time ago, but didn´t 3dfx go bankrupt or something just after the press release for this card?
I know they sold the rights for the VSA-100 chip to a vorkstation producer, don´t remember their name though, so this card can actually be bought new. Not by itself though.

1100 bucks and 6 days to go....he´ll propably get 2000+ for it.

Is this card really good compared to GF3 or Radeon8500? The Voodoo 5500, with 2 VSA-100 GPU´s an 64Mb memory is sure getting it´s ass kicked by ém.

It feels somewhat akward that 3dfx isn´t around anymore. The Voodoo1 card was propably the biggest improvement I´ve ever seen, compared to what was around before it. Voodoo2 wasn´t that bad either. I actually used a twin Voodoo2 setup until just 6 months ago. I found out that an GF2 MX400 was like a 100 times better, with 2 more free PCI slots and like 500 less components.

regards,
Henry.

3dfx's technology was bought by Nvidia... everything... they're supposed to be implementing some of the technologies into their chips after the Geforce 4... somewhere around the NV30

Well, maybe, but still there is a firm who uses the Voodoo 6000 in their workstations. I visited their website a few months ago, but I can´t find it right now. Propably they get a lot of requests to buy this card separatly, they had info saying that they _do not_ sell it as it is.

regards,
Henry.

lol, That guy selling the V5 6000 actually snapped a pic of the "NOT FOR RESALE" sticker. =P

Hardware is hardware, I guess. He wouldn't have the balls to do that to a Windows XP Corporate Edition CD, that's for sure.
