I have an i7 940 and just curious on the "danger zone" temps and the oc capability of the chip under normal circumstances. (ie not a $3000 water cooling system). I have the Cooler Master v8 cooler and using a CM Storm Sniper case.

well none know for sure but my safe zone is 70c but i get peaks to 75c. i have seen others showing 80c and not having problems. i would say pick 80c or 70c....

OC capability? 4 GHz is good. You get more, then you're doing way OK :)

Temps? If we're talking the usually rare max extreme stress, my opinion would be closer to 90° C. Welcome to the forums.
