OS: Vista x64
Audio chip: onboard Realtek ALC888 (optical + coaxial)
Sound system: NEC 5.1 mini (44.1k / 48k)
I use optical connection between the pc & NEC 5.1. The problem is when I pause a movie and then play again, the sound (AC3 & DTS) will take a few seconds to come up. Is it a clock synchronization between the alc888 and the NEC? Or something to do with the new Vista audio architecture?
My old pc using XP with a Yamaha chipset audio card connects to the same NEC system does not have the same problem. So the problem is not with the NEC, but either the Realtek or Vista!!?
