Help: What kind of motherboard?

Okay, im attempted to build a new computer for gaming, and i need some info on pretty much what i need to look for in a motherboard. I know there are two different kinds of boards: AMD/Intel and some have different slots for graphic cards etc. But, it would help if i could get a link or some kind of site so i can read up on what i need. Thanks in advance for help.
