Need some help with a watercooling setup

Going to be cooling my cpu and I am going to be getting a second 4870 so I'm cooling both of those too.

What should i get for a pump, fans, and tubing?
If i go with 7/16 tubing instead of 1/2 will I need hose clamps?

pumps, mcp655 or mcp355 with top.

most dont really use clamps with 7/16 since its so tight, however,i would still.

yate loons are great fans. not sure how that behemoth rad performs tho and what fans are *best* for it.

tubing: i like tygon, however, its pretty expensive so masterkleer isnt bad. tygon is a bit more flexible

curious, how are you mounting that rad?

welcome, good choices so far accept with such a large rad and more then 1 block i wouldn't get the ek supreme it's to restrictive. i would change it out for a swiftech apogee GTZ, dtek fuzion v2, or heat killer v3.

pumps, look above.

most people DO use clamps... never go clampless unless you feel lucky.
i like masterkleer, cheap and works well!

icebob has the same rad and went with yate loons, though i don't remember which speed.

Your selections look good.

For a pump I'd go for the MCP-655 Vario.
MasterKleer is excellent tubing that won't break your budget. http://www.mcmaster.com/
You should always use hose clamps but even plastic clamps are fine with 7/16" over 1/2" barbs.

I'm a pusher of the WC belief that anything I can do to prevent a leak on my $328 Mobo and my PSU etc is a good thing. Some run with 7/16 and no clamps. Usually when a post appears saying "I use no clamps" there is a furor of "OMG your a fool".

Then it dies down. If that person were to have a leak, he probably won't post the major event of PC death. I chalk that up to human nature, I wouldn't either.

If your new to PC watercooling, please use HOSE CLAMPS or the more expensive but pretty compression fittings. Plastic clamps (Herbie clips) have a bit higher fail rate, usually due to noob inexperiance, but do work fine also.

Once you have built a rig or two, and can afford a oops, then sure 1/2OD barbs on 7/16ID tubing with no clamps. It's your stuff.

Thank you for the welcome and the help. I'm going to be mounting the radiator on the left side of my case. Going with the 655 for the pump and high speed yate loons.

For coolant will distilled water with some PT nuke be fine?
