The micro stutter discussion thread

This thread is intended to operate alongside the micro stutter results thread. If you have any thoughts on what causes micro stutter, experiences with it, or want to ask another poster a few questions feel free to do it here. Thanks!

I've never run SLI, but I've gotten micro stutter from a single 4870. Ended up selling it.

You may want to encourage people to post in the results thread even if they don't have micro stutter. This would allow you to more readily identify the source of the problem.

Also keep in mind that some games, like Fallout3/Oblivion, get micro stutter regardless of the system setup - it's a problem with the engine. I get it in those games and have always used a single GPU setup.

Might skew results if people post about getting ms based on that engine only.
