Options in ATTO Disk benchmark tutorial

What does eaach of these options in ATTO Disk Benchmark mean?
1.Direct I/o
2.I/o Comparision
3.Overlapped I/O

and how does each of those options effect the device performance?

Thanks

From the ATTO Disk Benchmark help file...

Direct I/O: If this option is checked, file I/O on the test drive is performed with no system buffering or caching. Combine this option with Overlapped I/O for maximum asynchronous performance.

I/O Comparison: To compare the data read from the test file to the data written on a per block basis. You can select the data pattern for comparison from theTest Pattern dropdown box.

Overlapped I/O: To perform queued I/O. Upon selection, the Queue Depth option displays to select the maximum number of read or write commands that may be executed simultaneously.
