OK, so i have an ocz stealXtream 600w in a thermaltake armor case, and the fan is very loud.
so this is how it looks now ( pic from google imageS)

but if i put a hdd cage infront of it ( with 3 hdd's )
like so

will it overheat? could i disable the big fan, and put an 80mm exhaust outside my case?

also does anyone know how i could make the 120mm fan quiter without opening my psu and voiding the warranty?

my PSU is just as loud.
you could say it's as loud as a vacuum cleaner.

that'd make the fan even noisier and warmer woudln't it?
you're restricting it of airflow and like when you put your hand nera a fan, it gets noisier.

my plan is to swap my PSU fan out for a Scythe S-Flex or something but that involves physically opening up the PSU. i've alreayd done that...so no worries.

but yeah, i think you will have to as well. i think we have a similar problem where the PSU isn't even stressed, but the fan still spins like crazy.
