1st loop need some advice

Ok so the last part i'm waiting on,my pump, arrives tomorrow and i'm going to set my loop up at work tommorrow. The rig is the rig in my sig, and i am trying to push my cpu past 4.0, as heat was all that was stopping me at 3.86.
these are the components i have:

PUMP
swifttech mcp 655 w/o speed control

http://www.jab-tech.com/Swiftech-MCP...r-pr-3803.html

RAD
no idea, i bought it used from a friend and it has no markings to signify the brand, but its a black dual 120 rad in good shape appears to be quality construction, very clean and free flowing, thick

RES
XSPC 5.25" Bay Liquid Cooling Reservoir

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/62...t_-_Clear.html

CPU BLOCk
Swiftech Apogee GTZ

http://www.jab-tech.com/Swiftech-Apo...k-pr-4246.html

NB BLOCK:
Swiftech MCW-NBMAX (the link shows the mobo, and cpu block i have as well installed with this nb block)

http://www.jab-tech.com/Swiftech-MCW...r-pr-4272.html

MISC
running 1/2" tubing, i machined posts to mount the rad on top of the machine, and i have a pass through. also using anti kink coils, and distilled water with water wetter, using 2 apevia fans@60cfm

So I put this all together before reading all the stickies, and read that nb coolers are bad because of the flow resriction. How true is this, and to what degree will this restrict my flow? I also have a mcp 600 pump here and have considered running the nb cooler on that, but i have no rad for it. The cpu block, and the nb block match and i would like to put them both in the loop, but not if it kills the cooling. What do you think? Also any tricks to backing the air out? Using a bay res, what is the best method?

You'll be fine running that CPU and NB block. Now if you were running a very restrictive CPU block, a NB and TWO Mosfets blocks then you might worry about flow rate.

Looking at the ST NB block, it's probably a very good flower.

I don't like bay res, can be hard to bleed and fill because it's so thin and getting to the fill point can be a pain. But it's a res, it'll be fine.

The rad should be fine on that chip. If temps are a bit less than you expect and have some extra fans, try a push pull fan setup on it. Thats 4 fans in total on the rad.

You should be okay. You read the bigg assed spiel I posted? many links and guides. Even one on how to put the loop together. Here is a link to it, I just reposted it early this week.

im at work and the pump and coils just arrived...

another question.....i don't want to wait to order cooling fluid, i was going to use water wetter/distilled water, but have read some bad reviews of this method, stating that ww is stinky and clouds your tubes. What about vehicle anti-freeze? I was thinking maybe some anti freeze, distilled water, and a few drops of iodine for fungus. Will this work efficiently? Any other coolant suggestions?

You don't need watter wetter or anti-freeze. It does nothing for your loop. Be careful on the type of iodine, some have alcohol and it will/can crack acrylic.

+1 for distilled + PT Nuke. I'm running antifreeze & water wetter b/c there is alu in my loop, but am eagerly awaiting my new GPU block to go straight to distilled + PT Nuke. It killed me to put this in my loop, but I didn't have a different GPU block at the time. Friends don't let friends put extraneous crap in their water (or use Thermaltake water cooling ) with all copper loops.

Come to think of it, better have your friend let you know what rad that is to ensure it's copper. Most of them are at this point, but better to know than to have corrosion.

The NB block shouldn't cause you any problems. I'm running one (DD Maze-4) in my three-block loop without issue. Temps are pretty darn good too for three blocks and a 2x120 rad. That's changing too sometime in the near future.

well got everything installed so i though id post back here. ended up running distilled and water wetter, as it was all that was readily available, and i couldn't wait anymore. It was quite a job, i mounted the pump to the back of the case wall as it was the only way it would fit. I used 8-32x4 in panhead screws and machined the rad posts on a lathe for accuracy(why not i was bored at work...) from 1/2 in al stock. Thanks to some reading of the stickies, i had to remove the rad to hold it upside down and bleed the air out, and there was a lot of it.(thank you stickies again and again)i've got it up to 4.12 stable so far, but have gotten a few wierd errors in prime95 i have to sort out to go beyond that. it never goes above 50 under full load clocked at 4.12. At stock speeds, it was running at 27-30 idle and 36-38 loaded. I can finally turn down these ridiculous intake fans and enjoy the silence. The temps i posted were with my high speed intake fans off completely. i will also move to triple rad next week to further improve tempsnot to mention replacing these craptastic apevia fans. newegg's site says 62cfm, the box i got here says 52cfm, and the actual flow i would guess to be 25cfm. anybody got a favorite fan controller they recommend? I was thinking this one:
