Anyone here fans of NIS the publisher? They publish the Disgaea games here in america, along with the Atelier Iris series, the Ar tonelico series, and Mana Khemia series. ( along with many others. )
Well, they have a new game out called Cross Edge.
It's a pretty standard turn based RPG, that uses most sprites instead of full 3D characters, has a interesting turn-based combat system, and as most players have found it to be very addicting.
The biggest thing is that this game is a giant cross over for many series. You get characters from other game series to control in your party.
You get characters from...
Mana Khemia 2: The fall of alchemy -( company: GUST )
Atelier Marie ---------------------------( Company: GUST )
Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia -------( Company: GUST )
Spectral Souls ---------------------( Company: Idea Factory )
Disgaea ---------------------------( Company: Nippon Ichi Software )
DarkStalkers -----------------------( Company: Capcom )
Naturally, May favorites are Disgaea and DarkStalkers. Still waiting to get Etna and Prinny, and still waiting to get Demitri, Lilith, and Felicia from DarkStalkers, You get Morrigan from the beginning. ( And the DarkStalker characters are the japanese/Anime versions. Not the horrible animation style that america got for the cartoon. )
Offical reiviews for this game wasn't that great. But player reviews are pretty good, the average tends to be about an 8.0. This game though isn't really ment for casual gamers, or casual RPG fans. But more-so for fans of slow turn based battles, Sh*t tons of crafting ( almost a REQUIREMENT for this game...If you don't take advantage of the crafting/upgrade system in this game, you will *HAVE* to power level your characters to beat even some of the regular enemies. )
Just giving people a heads up on this if this is your type of game. Games like this never get any kinds of advertisements, places like Walmart never carries them, And Gamestop tends to order only 1 or 2 copies at a time. So hearing about games like this is usually based on luck when looking at games at gamestop, or hearing about it from other people online.
Oh, and it's a PS3 exclusive. ( NIS has never published a game for the Xbox/360, or PC. They have a few DS games, and like 1 Wii game. But most of their stuff is for sony's consoles. )
