I always find myself coming back to OC Forums for help when all other resources are exhausted. I hope one of you wireless experts can shed some light on my ongoing streaming media problem.
Task:
Stream media wirelessly from any one of my three home computers to my Pioneer SC-07 AV Receiver "Home Media Gallery".
Network hardware:
Trendnet TEW-633GR Wireless N Gigabit Router
Computer 1: Ethernet connection to router, running Windows Media Player 11
Computer 2: Wireless running Windows Media Player 11
Computer 3: Wireless running Tversity
The SC-07 is connected wirelessly through an AP in client mode
What does work:
I have a good and consistent network connection to the SC-07 as witnessed by my constant availability to Internet Radio.
Problem:
Sporatic ability to "see" servers on the network.
Here is what I have found. If I disconnect the Cat 5 cable from my AP to the receiver and then plug it back in I can see (from the top menu of my receiver) all of the computers (servers) that are up on the network, no problem, I can access the media fine. But after a few minutes of accessing various files, whether music, video or photos, then return back to the top level menu of the receiver, I find the servers have "dropped off" and can no longer access them. Sometimes it will be only one at a time, other times it may be all of them, but eventually none will show up. I run the network setup from the top level menu of the receiver but nothing will show up. If I then unplug the Cat 5 cable and plug it back in, voila....everything is up again and the process will repeat, dropping off servers over a short period of time. However the media will continue to stream, even if I can't see the server listed on the top menu, but once I shut it down, I cannot access it again until I do the unplug routine.
I really appreciate any input anyone may have to offer.
Thanks,
