Those temps are amazing... my idle temps are in the high 40's low 50's.... and load reaches 80+
Seems like this cooler really is special...
Looks like a nice cooler, had been looking at them on and off awhile, nice temps.
Out of curiousity are they larger than the stock fan setup that's on the HD4870x2, or occupy about the same amount of space?
Mines really crammed in there with other things, was worried it wouldn't fit in here if ever did get one.
i don't have 'said' cooler, but i have the version they made for the GTX 200 series.
WOW. is all i have to say.
my 285 @ 752c/1692s/1440m idles between 32*C~ 34*C and loads @ between 43*C and 45*C
one con, it took FOREVER to install.
Just got one off Sidewinder, see how this does.
I'm gonna be doing some others things for a friends build and selling some stuff, so I I'm gonna upgrade in the process, WTH.
just be ready to put the x brackets back on! they are impossible..i took screws from the factory card and took the screws and springs off the x brackets and used those screws and it worked like a champ :-D just be ready for that part. Other then that it takes a litlte while, but it's pretty easy. Let me know how you make out on it.
Frig I don't know I paypal'd Sidewinder a couple days ago when I ordered it, got a order confirmation and they haven't did the paypal their end it looks so probably stuck in processing atm. I even tried calling em on the phone and it just rang forever so I guess Ill just have to wait a bit.
I did see that about the two side screw's off the PDF at the AC site, and I've dealt with those pesky cross braces before so shouldn't be bad, I was just worried about getting the old fan off so just waiting on it I guess.
Thanks for the reply, I'll let ya know for sure and thanks for confirming it was a nice setup to begin with
No but I might be a little leary of their CPU coolers.
I've a True 120 copper sitting here that Ive been preping a few days, one of the reasons I got a GPU cooler too, I'm kinda of upgrading the whole cooling system a lot.
I'd maybe check out a True 120 extreme or a black if ya dont want to spring for a copper which ways a ton and I think Ive devised a solution to that one that I feel safe with.
I'd say a lot of people on here swear by the Trues, I have a Sunbeam atm CCTF, and will be able to see if it pushes me higher I guess, they are both supposed to be great CPU coolers.
I'm clueless on Artic's CPU coolers myself, sorry, but it might be great considering the GPU one.
