E8200 $99 any good?

I was looking for a cheap E7xxx cpu to put in my htpc, instead I found and bought this E8200 at Microcenter for $99...plus shipping for $6. No, I do not need to pick it up.

As of now....there are 43 left in Santa Clara, CA

I'd say at that price it's a pretty good deal. Lowest I found elsewhere was $130

is E8200 going EOL?

or has it been EOL'd for a while?

Cus if its recent frys should probably be dumping them soon as well!

its a core 2 duo, i guess its been EOL for awhile... people use c2q or i7 now a days...

then your logic would mean that e5xxx e7xxx and e8xxx lines along with the NEW e6XXX line would be done with... which its not.

It's definitely better.
For start at stock 2.66Ghz, 1333MHz FSB, 6MB cache, Virtualization, SSE4, 45nm process technology and runs cool.
I heard others gotten this cpu stable around 3.70~3.90GHz

Expecting to recieve mine on Monday.

I got mine up to 3.6 no problem. Benched 4.0, but it was a bit unstable. It can be done though.

Picked one up on Sunday.

With a bit of tweaking, I'm 3.8ghz stable. 1.36v. C0 stepping.
