well last night I got board and started playing with my soldering iron, first I fixed my old MTX amp then I got to looking at this old PNY 8500GT my little brother gave me to fold with. after some time to google the chips, and some soldering Its done, now lets see what this thing can do!first I changed the HS out for the one off my Palit 8600GT A pic of the old HS the mod area the system (voltage shown is a shot at 1Ghz core clock) ![]() and some results suicide run ![]() http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/67esy/ as of now I'm still working on a memory Vmod so in the tests memory was not touched. Good work! Volt modding is easy to figure out if you can read a spec sheet, use a soldering iron, and have a multimeter. ![]()

Thanks, I just wanted to see how far I could push this thing ![]() Granted a 8500 gt isn't much, but the extra clocks pushed my 3Dmark06 score up by over 50%. ![]() I also did the memory but it didn't seem to help much at all ![]() Vmem pic.

I'm sure they are getting fairly hot, I will try putting a couple of heat sinks on them later and give it another go. I may even put the accelero s2 off my 8600 on it for a better shot at 1Ghz core clock ![]() I wonder how well this thing will handle folding........... ![]()
