My mobo, M4A78+ has 9 USB ports with 7 host controllers, which means close to full speed bandwidth. Does a mobo really need that many usb ports? This motherboard is great, works perfect, supports overclocking, but 9?

I could use more than that.

Keyboard
Mouse
Card reader
Bluetooth
802.11abgn
Flash drive
Axim dock
Phone charger

I use 8 ports at minimum, usually. It's a good thing my keyboard and card reader both have hubs, since I sometimes plug in additional flash drives.

Simply put, the PS/2, Parallel, Serial, and even floppy connector are all completely useless and should have been forced off of PCs in favor of one interconnect for all of them years ago. ASUS is just doing now what should have been done 5 years ago, IMO. :D
