I'm wondering how many boards out there that are AM3 (AM2+/AM3) have ACC? Here soon I'm going to build a somewhat nice (In my eyes) gaming rig. the AMD Phenom II x2 Callisto BE Being the CPU. I would like to unlock the other four cores (I know its not guaranteed, but ill be fine if i cant unlock / get the cores stable)

I need at least one PCIe 2.0 x16, other than that I'm fine with anything i can find. I am on a budget so anything at or under 80$ would be awesome.

What can you suggest?

In advance thanks much!! :)

The board I've found (With bios flash)

The eventual build
AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition Callisto 3.1GHz
XIGMATEK Dark Knight
Rosewill 530W 80 plus certified PSU
XFX Radeon HD 4870 1GB
[Insert MB here]
[insert necessary RAM here]
WD 300GB HD
WD 80GB HD
Antec 300 case

That's a fine choice, as far as I know, the only signficant difference between 770
and the newer chipsets is PCI express lane count, hence the single x16 slot on this board.

possible

try this board, not sure if manufacturers have disabled acc yet, or if the 550 chips are now being shipped with two defective cores, if you get lucky and unlock the other 2 cores awesome.

May need to update the bios to the newest F5A version; Apparently there are two versions F5 (2009/6/3) on the gigabyte.com.tw and F5A (2009/5/12) on gigabyte.us

F5A

F5

With the F5a bios in the ACC option it gives you "normal" or "Hybrid" firmware. To unlock all the cores you need to use the hybrid.

supposedly with F5a the ACC option was put in.

this board and that bios version will unlock the phenom II processors, stable at stock 3.1ghz with no voltage bump.

hope this helps

All motherboards with the 750 south bridge have ACC. It was a feature added with the newest revision (moving from sb700 to sb750.)
