"best" in what respect?
Seriously, people are way too paranoid about what is "better" than another drive. Sure, there is the oddity that is the 7200.11 fiasco but it's not like any manufacturer of any device has a spotless record.
Ive used quite a few 1.5TB drives and IMHO the best drive out currently is the samsung F2 (3x 500gb platters) followed by the western digital 3x 500gb platter drive, which you have to search through part numbers and recent reviews to find currently. The only reason I list the samsung over the western digital is price which the western digital holds a 20%+ price premium.
After those two is the seagate LP which only has 4x 375gb platters and most consumers should still be warry of it due to the 7200.11 fiasco. At this point the 7200.11 (4x 375gb platters) should be avoided at all costs as there are three other options now even though many have had good experiences with them including myself.
