GPU: BFG nVidia 8800GT OC
Action: Overclocking
Description:
As the name of the video card suggests, its already overcloked by the manufacturer. But I want to overclock it even more, hence I want to make my 8800GT OC into BFG nVidia 8800GT OC2.

Link(OC, mine): http://www.bfgtech.com/bfgr88512gtoce.aspx

Link(OC2, want to be like): http://www.bfgtech.com/bfgr88512gtoc2e.aspx

It seems that both cards have identical specs except for those that are affected only due to the clocks.

Is it possible/good idea to overclock my 8800GT OC so it will be identically like 8800GT OC2?

How to overclock it?

Regards.

im not sure how high to overclock it, but there are quite a few Nvidia gpu apps out there
Rivatuner ( Personal faverout, does everything you want)
Nune ( never used it, hear its gooD)
ATITool ( yes it does work with nvidia cards....no vista x64 support
i normally go up around 5mhz at a time, and stres test with Furmark / Occt/ Crysis
keep an eye out for any artifacting!

oh and :welcome: :soda::bday:

Programs listed above.... use those and up the clocks in 10Mhz chunks (shader, then core, then memory) with Furmark running in the backround to check for artifacts. When it artifacts or freezes, you need to lower w/e you have down a notch.

Before you start, make sure that the fan and heatsink on the card is clean of dust. Monitor temperatures and crank up fan speeds if necessary. If you see visual glitches, STOP... and lower your clocks.

You should be able to go beyond OC2 speeds.

Edit: And there may be a BIOS volt-mod to give you an extra 0.05v and even more speed.
