I'm basicly trying to make my box fairly quiet without going and blowing $30 for dynamat. I'm wondering if anyone here has any suggestions. I tried using compressed cork, putting 2 layers (with an air gap) on both panels, but that hap almost no affect (a wasted $4.50). Are there any cheapo materials that a place like ace hardware would have?

We had this little question come up in the forms last week, but I don't remember where. I recommended putting cork as the first layer and then putting some thick or even shag carpet on top. You also might be able to use carpet padding. The only thing that Dynomat or punchbaord really does is get rid of vibration noise. It doesn't really quite the system.
